I'm Ibby Omotosho and since 2010, I have been to almost forty countries.

I love travelling, connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds, and meeting other travellers.

One of my favourite things about travelling are the stories. I love my experiences and listening to other travellers. From my perspective, these stories make the adventures more exciting and memorable.

Until now I believe that the process of travelling is something that we take for granted. The people that we meet, the emotional rollercoasters of the travel adventures, I feel like these things are missed out and omitted. And  I am guilty of this as I only seem to share the picture perfect Facebook and instagram moments.

But these are just snippets. I believe that the highlights, the best bits are the parts that you don’t normally hear about and that inspired me to create tales of traveller podcast to share the good, the bad and the ugly of my experiences and those of some of the amazing people I’ve met along the journey.

Mexico CIty

Ernesto and I first met as exchange students in Seoul, South Korea a few years ago. When Neto moved back home to Mexico City after extensively travelling the world, he noticed that the guided tours in his city remained the same. After receiving great feedback from friends he hosted about his cantina and taqueria, Neto created Bondabu. Bondabu is now one of the top five must see tours in Mexico City and I can't wait to reconnect with him to see what the hype is.

Rio &
sao paulo

I got close to a few people from Brazil during my travels. It was easy for me to get on with them, they were super chilled, adventurous and just nice individuals. Whenever I told them I had an amazing time during my first adventure to Latin America when I travelled from Uruguay to Florianopolis, in the south east coast of Brazil and then went back to Argentina to catch my flight, they all said "you didn't go to Rio?, you didn't go to Sao Paulo?, you haven't been to Brazil"

So I have to go back, do it right and hopefully reconnect with some travel friends I haven't seen in a long time.

Vietnam

Even though I have been to Vietnam it is on my wish list because I feel like there is so much about Vietnam to uncover so you can imagine how I feel when I was there for nine days.  I started in the North in the capital Hanoi, the journeyed to Halong Bay, one world's UNESCO heritage sites, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Phu Quoc (an island bordering with Cambodia).

I was speed travelling through the country and every time I felt settled, it was time to go to another destination.

Cuba

Fidel Castro died in the early hours of the 26th of November 2016. A few hours before my friends and I arrived living la vida loca. But the moment the news broke that passed away, the club shut down and kicked everyone out and we were stuck in Cuba without rum, music, or salsa.

On one hand we got to experience a big part of history and at the same time we selfishly wished it happened at a different time ideally when we were not there.

We made the most of the trip by travelling the country but the whole experience was like seeing Cuba without a soul. I felt like the Cuba I saw was not the real Cuba so I have to go back to see the real country
